A thoughtful and practical presentation on planning a Catholic funeral for yourself or a loved one. Topics include:
Pre-Planning a Funeral Mass; Learn how to plan a meaningful Catholic funeral Mass. Coordination with the Funeral Home; understand the process and how to work with your funeral home. Learn about Catholic Cemetery options and available resources. An opportunity to ask questions surrounding planning a funeral for family, relatives, or yourself. Trunk-or-Treat Saturday October 24

St. Anthony Students Serve (SASS) Presents Trunk or Treat October 24, 7:00 pm-8:30 pm at the St. Stephen the Martyr parking lot. Free admission - Canned food donations encouraged!
Best Decorated Trunk Contest: You Can Host a Spooky Trunk!
Calling all spooky, silly, and sweet decorators! We're looking for families to host a trunk at our upcoming Trunk or Treat event. All you need to do is decorate your car trunk and bring candy to hand out to our little trick-or-treaters. Get creative - the more festive and fun, the better! It's a great way to be part of the fun and make Halloween extra special for our school and parish community. Sign-up by contacting meyers@sasr.org. Trunk Set-Up: 6:30pm-7:00pm. No Youth Group this Sunday, October 25 

Come November 1 for Special Event!

Like it says above, there will be no youth group on October 25. Come November 1 for a Halloween Party & All Saints Day - Night! There will be lots of candy, wear a church appropriate costume if you want!

New Eucharistic Minister Training this Sunday

Is the Lord calling you to become a Eucharistic Minister? Are you looking for a tangible way to love and serve others? Join us for a training class on Sunday, October 25^th from 1:00 - 2:30 PM in the church. Visit the Pack ’n Play in the narthex to choose a remaining shoe tag. Purchase the requested gift and return it with the tag to the Pack ’n Play. 
WANT TO WALK WITH PREPARES ALL YEAR?
There are many ways to be part of this ministry:
PRAY — Pray for the families we serve and for the work of PREPARES.
GIVE — Our current needs are Diapers size 6 diapers, New clothing: Boys and Girls size newborn & 24mo
WALK — Become a PREPARES companion and walk alongside a family. Come to our next meeting: October 27th at 7:15pm in Classroom 130 to learn more!

Catholic Youth Convention - Never Alone!

We are joining with youth from all over the Archdiocese of Seattle for a day filled with faith, prayer, and fun! Sign up with BOTH our group here at St. Stephens / St. Anthony AND the Archdiocese to ensure that we have a spot for you in the carpool down to St. Martin's in Olympia! Cathleen will be one of the MC's for the day, and would LOVE to have a large group from St. Stephens!!  Location: St. Martin's University Time: 10am - 6pm Cost: $65 (youth) / $35 (adult chaperone)

Safe Environment Training 

Required for all adults working with children, serving vulnerable adults, or are parish campus key Holders. Great information for all!  Remember: Every 3 years you need to take a short refresher course (online) and complete a new Background Check. Food Pantry

We currently serve up to 75 families per week. We give each family 2 bags of grocery staples (17 total items approx. $45 per family).  Along with donated food items we purchase wholesale to make up the difference plus milk and eggs. Current items needed for these bags are listed above. Please note: We purchase wholesale, so we can make monetary donations go further than buying at Retail. You can donate by clicking here. Donations of any of these items help reduce the amount we have to purchase. Thanks for the support!

Learn How to Explain and Defend Your Faith

If someone asks you why Catholics pray to Mary and the Saints, do you know how to respond? Can you defend challenges about the Papacy? The Trinity? The definition of marriage? The sanctity of life? The St. Stephen the Martyr Apologetics Discussion Group is a collection of faithful learners intent on improving our abilities to explain and defend the teachings of the Catholic Church. We use the Bible, Catechism, and teachings of the Magisterium to improve our skills at sharing the Gospel. We’re a drop-in group! Join us Sunday evenings at 6:30pm in the St. John’s Room just off the social hall. Come learn with us!
